Continuous Professional Development
INTRODUCTION
Continuous professional development is the deliberate acquisition and maintenance of the knowledge, skills, and in this case, competencies that are necessary for a person to succeed in the real working environment. This might entail improving your present abilities, raising your level of knowledge, and competencies, or acquiring new ones that will enable you to succeed in the workplace as a well-rounded, competent professional. Continuous professional development incorporates a range of various learning approaches, including e-learning courses, classroom-based studies, conferences, workshops, and independent research.
Long-term career development is approached from several angles through CPD, which includes all educational efforts made by existing and future professionals with the objective of gaining new knowledge and upgrading their current skills.
CPD incorporates 21st Century Skills, which are in demand by companies, in addition to the necessary training and education. CPD is a self-directed activity that necessitates personal accountability for future professional achievement ReachingSelf (2022). It is a continuous improvement project that spans a wide range of academic and professional activities. It is crucial to regularly refresh your skills and knowledge, whether you're thinking about changing careers or working for a promotion with your current employment. Your CPD strategy is entirely up to you, but whatever you do to widen your horizons might be quite beneficial for your long-term advancement.
I will start my CPD by listing the three competencies I have made a conscious effort to advance in the previous years. The following competencies were chosen using an evidence-based methodology to make sure that they were appropriate and pertinent to my own growth. I will create a professional development plan using these capabilities to make sure I can reach my goals. To demonstrate how my views on each ability changed over the course of the year, I will offer a pre- and post-reflection on each. To further support each skill and its growth, objects, resources, and methodologies will be provided.
Logistician Personality
I took the 16Personalities MBTI test, and it defined me as an ISFP, otherwise known as an Adventurer. This personality test categorises you into one of sixteen personality types and is intended to provide insight into who you are, and why you do the things that you do. The test describes each type's behaviours in several situations. For my professional development, the section on workplace habits, and the section on strengths and weaknesses were most beneficial to me. Logisticians pride themselves on their integrity. People with this personality type mean what they say, and when they commit to doing something, they make sure to follow through (NERIS Analytics Limited, 2013)
Strengths and Weaknesses
There are many strengths of logisticians, such as their strong-willed attitude and diligence, their sense of responsibility, their calmness, and their ability to create and enforce order. Here are the strengths I identified as most relevant to me. Logisticians are considered stubborn, insensitive, and judgmental when it comes to weaknesses.
