During the HSS3 presentation, we were not given the opportunity to pick our group members, which was something we all anticipated. First presentation things were a little awkward during our first meetup because we were all used to our previous group members, and it was difficult for us to form a bond because we knew we would not be working together again. As a result, the meetup was overly formal with little opportunity to get to know one another.

Surprisingly, everything went nicely for my Presentation 1 group. We all put forth a lot of effort and provided the necessary information required for both our own tasks and when someone requested assistance locating data. We were swift and effective, and we all knew what was required of us, which gave us the willpower and fortitude to practise for hours. I acquired a leadership position in this presenting group. I was able to develop presentation ideas, establish deadlines, and give everyone a chance to speak up thanks to my position.

My Presentation 2 Group, on the other hand, was the opposite. One of our team members chose not to pitch for the presentation, which cost us points. Another member insisted on handling everything on her own and would not allow others to actively collaborate with her. As a result, I came to the realisation that I did not enjoy feeling like an observer in my own work. Since my coworkers were too silent and accepting of everything, I had to address her and we had a conflict, we then had to sit down and cooperate on our job. For my contribution to the group, I offered forceful suggestions about how our ideas should be presented. In addition, I was not pleased with how I kept quiet while accepting that would be our method of working on the presentation.

The experience I had, especially in a teamwork environment, inspired me to value collaboration in the workplace.

SEMESTER 2

My Presentation 3 group was made up of my close friends in this degree and people that I genuinely respect and adore as individuals and colleagues. This presentation was stressful but in a fun way because of the people that I was working with. Everyone did what was required of them when it was required. The topic we chose to have our presentation 3 on was: "IN 2016 the uThukela District Municipality started offering a so-called ‘Maiden Bursary’ to young women doing courses in higher education. The terms of the bursary required that the recipients should remain virgins until they complete their qualifications. Regular virginity tests were to be performed (by traditional testers in the community) on these recipients throughout the period of their studies. The mayor justified the bursary in terms of its putative contribution to public health: “The student grants are intended to 'reduce HIV, AIDS, and unwanted pregnancy 'among women and girls in the region. Would this bursary with its related conditions be MORALLY justified?" This topic was interesting as we were against the statement as a group, but doing research and producing counterarguments was extremely fun for me.

Presentation 4 group consisted of my organisational analysis team. A last hooray of some sorts, a goodbye to working and growing together since 2021. It was frustrating and confusing but that is how we usually are- sometimes we do not agree completely. The moments that we created during the preparation for this presentation were much sweeter, because we spent more time together on calls.

Presentation 3 and 4 were similar in two ways, it was working together with a group of friends when there was also another groupwork task that was due with that same group. Therefore, both block 3 and 4 required a lot of planning and dedication to completing the work and meeting internal deadlines as well as personal ones for individual assignments.
